- Tomato Cook-Off; Local restaurants will be preparing and serving tasty tomato treats sure to delight your taste buds
- Tomato Growing Competition: Think you have the biggest, tastiest, most unusual tomato? Prizes will be awarded, so bring 'em on down!
- Master Gardeners: available to answer tomato growing related questions
- Tomato Plants & Fruit Display; Heritage & other varieties of tomato plants will be on display, fruit taste testing
- Door Prize: TRU friends of the Garden $50 gift certificate for our annual Plant Sale
- Historical Interest: Learn more about the history of the tomato in Kamloops and the canneries that prepared them.
Education - Generating interest in the growing of tomatoes may serve to stimulate interest in gardening, growing our own food, and purchasing produce from local growers as the appreciation for fresh tasting, wholesome food grows.
Family - Spending time as a family, learning, experimenting and of course eating all the wonderful fruits and vegetables you can grow in your garden.
We believe this can all happen from celebrating the tomato.
